how to know if a golf club is right or left handed? steel or graphite?

by admin on April 14, 2009

I don't know how to tell if a club is right handed or left. How can you tell??
Plus, how do I know what its made of? if it helps,I have 8 wilson dynapower staff ultralite 3-9 + a pitching wedge
then 4 powerbilt true temper citation numbers 1,3,4, and 5.
Then, I have a true temper bullet2 putter(?)
and last a king cobra 3 club. `
I don't know anything about golf clubs.

Just hold the club in front of you and if the face of the club points to the left then it is a right handed club and if it points to the right then it is a left handed club. Steel shafted clubs shine and are od metallic appearance whilst a graphite shafted club is not metallic and is usually less shiny.

if you put the club head on the floor facing away from you and the grooves are on the left it is a right handed club

if you put the club on the ground and the club face is faced towards the target that means its what ever handed you are(kinda hard to explain). Graphite clubs will be colored, like black or blue, a steel club is……… the color of steel

hold the club on the ground out in front of you like you are going to hit a ball. if the flat part of the club (the part that will hit the ball) faces to your left, then it is a right handed club. if the flat part faces right, then it is a left handed club.

If your left side is facing the target, the club is right handed. If the right side is facing the target, the club is left handed. If you watch Tiger Woods swing, that is the right handed swing. If you see Phil Michelson swing, he has a left handed swing. The steel shaft is usually chrome plated and will be shiny. The graphite shaft may be a gradation of black to light grey color with some lettering along its length. That is the usual indication of graphite..
