Honestly you'll be lucky to find one now, unless you get it secondhand. One of my playing partners has an old Ping 1-iron, but they don't seem to make them anymore, so you might have to just trawl eBay and hope you get lucky.
In fact Callaway, Ping and most of the major manufacturers are offering only 2-irons and upward, as the demand for 1-irons is almost non-existent. You may actually have to get an independant clubmaker to construct one as a bespoke job.
Go to Golfsmith. At Golfsmith you can try the clubs in the store before you buy them .Golfsmith can tell you how far you hit .the best type of clubs to buy. and they will not charge you for this.
